Multiple Arrests in Stony Point
40 year-old Kurt Rifflard of Stony Point was arrested on March 10 for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Rifflard was arrested after he turned himself in on an active Bench Warrant. He was processed and will return to court on March21.
20-year-old from Stony Point, Daniel Monahan was arrested on March 6 for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree and False Personation. Monahan was arrested after a vehicle and traffic stop revealed two active Bench Warrants for stated charges. He was processed, sent to the RC Correctional Facility and placed on $1,000 bail. He will return to court on March 23.
27 year-old Demetrius Smith from Spring Valley was arrested on March 4 for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd degree. Smith was arrested after a vehicle and traffic stop revealed he was operating a motor vehicle while his NYS DLIC was suspended for failing to answer a summons. He was released but will return to court on April 4.
Melanie Nelson, 39-year-old from Stony Point was arrested on March 4 for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd degree. Nelson was arrested after a vehicle and traffic stop revealed she was operating a vehicle while her NYS DLIC was suspended for failing to answer a summons. She was released but will return to court on March 23.
Kevin Tavares, 24-year-old from Haverstraw was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Operating with a Suspended Registration. Tavares was arrested after a delete โvehicle andโ traffic stop revealed that he was operating a motor vehicle while his registration was suspended. During the arrest, officers found Tavares to be in possession of Tramadol, a controlled substance. He was processed and released but will appear in court on March 21.
Ramapo
Robbery and Weapon Arrest
On March 7, the Ramapo Police responded to the old Tilcon Quarry in Suffern. The Suffern Police located the suspects from last weekโs robbery. One of the suspects was in possession of a black airsoft pistol that was hidden in his wristband. The two were processed with Criminal Trespass. After further investigation, they were also processed with Robbery, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Grand Larceny in the 4th degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in connection with that robbery.
Fugitive in Ramapo
42 year-old Kenneth Folkes is wanted by the Ramapo Police for Petit Larceny. The incident occurred in 2012 in Airmont. Folkes is 5โ10 and weighed 170 lbs at the time of the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ramapo Police at (845) 357-2400.
DWUI in Sloatsburg
On March 10, Ramapo Police responded to Sterling Mine Road in Sloatsburg on a call about a head-on collision. It was determined that one of the drivers, a 51-year-old from West Milford, NJ was under the influence of drugs.
The drugged driver crossed a double yellow line and collided with the 33-year-old driver from Hewitt, NJ. Both were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital. The drugged driver was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, Operation of a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License, Vehicular Assault and other traffic law infractions. He will appear in court later next month and is currently in serious condition at the hospital.
Assault Arrest
On Sunday, the Ramapo Police arrested a 32-year-old New Hempstead resident for assault. The defendant allegedly struck another man in the head with a beer bottle. The incident occurred in Hillcrest. The victim was treated and released from the hospital.
Orangeburg
DWI in Pearl River
The Orangetown Police arrested Vladimir Vera, a 45 year-old man from Rivervale, NJ on Sunday for Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.
Police stopped Vera for erratic driving and traffic violations on Blue Hill Road South in Pearl River. Upon speaking with Vera, they noticed his glassy eyes, poor motor coordination and the strong smell of alcohol on his breath. Officers noticed an open container of alcohol in his vehicle. After failing several sobriety tests, Vera was transported to headquarters where he refused to take a breathalyzer. Veraโs privilege to drive in NYS was taken away when he failed to answer a previous summons.
Vera was released on $200 bail but will appear in Orangetown Court on April 11.

Fugitive in Clarkstown
66 year-old Michael Brenner is wanted by the Clarkstown Police for Larceny, Possession of Stolen Property and an Unlicensed Dog. His last known address was in Nanuet. If you have any information of Brenner, please contact the Clarkstown Police at (845) 639-5990.
