BRABENEC: TAX FREEDOM DAY AN EMBARRASSING REFLECTION OF NYS POLICIES

Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R-Deerpark) issued a statement on Tax Freedom Day, May 9 

“Taxes are a form of legal theft- plain and simple. New York’s Tax Freedom Day is shamefully third-to-last in the country, meaning that it takes our families over four months each year to pay off their collective tax burden. New York doesn’t have a revenue problem, it has a tax and spend problem, and state leaders routinely use this as a mechanism to further their political profiles on the backs of our families, and that is insulting. I will continue to fight for lower taxes and spending until the desire to live and work in New York outweighs the financial incentive to live elsewhere.”
