M&T Bank announced on May 5 the appointment of Mark Stellwag to regional president of the bank’s Albany/Hudson Valley region. As regional president, Stellwag will work across the region to connect M&T’s business lines to deliver integrated financial services to individuals, families and businesses.
“Mark is a seasoned community banker with decades of experience in the Albany and Hudson Valley market,” said Michael T. Keegan, M&T Bank area executive for Upstate New York and New England. “I am confident that this structure, and this team, will provide the bank with the local knowledge, the leadership, and the depth of expertise to effectively serve our local communities.”
Stellwag has 35 years of banking industry experience, including 25 years at M&T. He has been the Market President of the Hudson Valley region since 2015, and spent 10 years as the team leader for M&T’s commercial real estate group in Albany and the Hudson Valley.
Stellwag is on the marketing committee of the Dutchess County Economic Development Corporation, a board member of the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation, is a business advisory council member of the SUNY New Paltz Graduate School of Business and a committee member of the Newburgh office of Habitat for Humanity. He is a graduate of Pace University.
Stellwag is based at M&T’s Fishkill Operations Center on Route 52 and is responsible for managing operations at 45 offices, including 31 across the Hudson Valley.
