NORTH ROCKLAND HS ALUM GRADUATES AIR FORCE BASIC TRAINING

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Carmen R. Vazquez graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Vazquez is the daughter of Denise M. Palermo-Vazquez of Garnerville, N.Y., and Francisco R. Vazquez of West Haverstraw, N.Y., and sister of Teresa D. Vazquez of West Haverstraw, N.Y., and Michael G. Marrero of Haverstraw, N.Y. She is a 2010 graduate of North Rockland High School. She earned an associate degree in 2013 from Rockland Community College, Suffern, N.Y.
