Nyack Hospital Receives Grant for New Emergency Dept. Digital X-ray Suites

Nyack Hospital has received a $300,000 grant for two digital X-ray suites which will be located in the new Emergency Department (ED) as part of the Hospitalโ€™s Transformation Project.ย  The funding is being provided by New NY Bridge Community Benefits Program.

โ€œAs home to one of the most active Emergency Departments in the lower Hudson Valley, Nyack Hospital provides emergency care to nearly 60,000 individuals a year,โ€ said Nyack Hospital President & CEO, Mark Geller, MD.ย  โ€œOnce complete, our new Emergency Department will be more than double in size, offering a multitude of amenities in emergency care medicine.ย  We are very thankful for the support from New NY Bridge as the two new digital X-ray suites further strengthen our ability to meet the emergency medicine needs of our community.โ€

The Transformation Project at Nyack Hospital will increase the size of the Emergency Department to 26,000 square feet, offering a separate fast/track urgent care center, new rapid assessment area, private behavioral health assessment unit, larger trauma treatment bays, dedicated imaging suite with a CT scanner and an integrated decontamination room.ย  The addition of an adjacent Urgent Care Center will assist with providing patients with non-emergent conditions a more appropriate level of ambulatory care and access to primary care providers, reducing unnecessary visits to the Emergency Department.ย
