High honors for three Rockland BOCES Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) students who were awarded college scholarships from the OโGrady-Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund. The scholarships were established in memory of Nyack police Sgt. Edward O’Grady and Officer Waverly “Chipper” Brown, killed in the 1981 Brinks robbery. Congratulations to Mary Callan (Criminal Justice, North Rockland), Lesly Gaibor Lema (Criminal Justice, Spring Valley) and Joseph Krause (Certified Auto Technology, Tappan Zee). The BOCES CTEC students are among five 2017 scholarship recipients, all high school seniors seeking careers in law enforcement. The OโGrady-Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund presented the awards during a Saturday brunch in Nyack.
