It’s “play ball” time Friday, June 30 at Penguin Repertory Theatre, Crickettown Road in Stony Point. Ty Cobb steps up to bat in the return of the play “Cobb” to the gutsiest little theatre off Broadway. The well-traveled story about Cobb, who was said to be the meanest man in baseball, has been played before at Penguin, (would you believe in 1955?). On Golden Pond, opening July 14 at Elmwood Playhouse in Nyack. Directed by Candy Pittari, this story of elderly Norman, his sweet wife, Ethel, and their estranged daughter, will star Ralph Bowers of Stony Point, Sondra Rosoff of South Nyack, Elizabeth Mayer of Orangeburg, Bob Eisenson of Nyack, Kevin Cannon of West Nyack and Mathew Quirk of New City makes up the cast.
