Your weekly forecast by Zachary Jacomowitz
Hello, Rockland County! I hope that your week has been pleasant and great. It’s now time for your forecast for the weekend and into next week. With that said, let’s get right to the details!
The forecast starts on Friday, and Friday is really not looking like a pleasant weather day. An area of low pressure will move off the New Jersey coast and head offshore. With this, rain will overspread our area Thursday night into Friday, and the chance for showers will last much of the day. It’ll also be unseasonably cool, with highs only in the mid-60s to near 70°.
This is quite a contrast compared to the heat on Thursday. Saturday is currently looking much more summer-like. A few showers or isolated storms will be possible, but otherwise, expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s after rebounding from a morning low in the low to mid-60s. Sunday is looking much brighter, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid-80s. Sunday morning will feature a low near 60°.
Monday will be more humid as a cold front starts to approach the area. Highs will be in the low to mid-80s. Expect partly cloudy skies with the threat for a shower or storm towards the late afternoon and evening. Tuesday is looking similar to Monday. The front appears to be stalled to our west, allowing for warm and humid air to infiltrate in. Highs will be in the low to mid-80s under partly to mostly cloudy skies. A shower or storm cannot be ruled out later in the day once again.
Wednesday looks to remain slightly unsettled, with highs in the low to mid-80s, along with partly to mostly cloudy skies and a chance for afternoon storms. Thursday is looking partly cloudy with highs in the low 80s. A stray shower or storm is possible.
Once again, I hope that you have had a nice week, and I hope that your weekend and week ahead is even better! As always, stay safe and stay cool!
