The 7th Annual United Latin Festival of Haverstraw will be held this weekend Sunday, August 6 in the Village of Haverstraw. The event draws thousands of celebrants every year.
The United Latin Parade begins at 12 noon in front of Emeline Park, before proceeding to Broadway. It will be followed by festivities at Haverstraw Elementary School parking lot off of Partition St. in downtown Haverstraw. Fun features include live music, food vendors, business vendors and nonprofit organization booths.
The United Latin Festival of Haverstraw Committee invites all residents, elected officials, community organizations and visitors are able to join in the celebration of Latin culture.
There will be several distinguished people and organizations that will be recognized. The honorees this year are:

International Godmother – Doris Suarez
International Godfather – Hugo Sicha
Latin Honoree of the Year – Hector L. Soto
Latin American Students of the Year – Gabriel Aponte and Leslie Garcia
Humanitarian of the Year – Marina Gutierrez
Businesses of the Year – Interstate Toyota, Los Amigos Restaurant and
TJ McGowan & Sons
