“Curious Gin was created for people who aren’t really accustomed to drinking gin,” said Monte Sachs, founder and master distiller, Catskill Distilling Company. “It’s made from 14 regional and exotic botanicals and locally grown juniper berries, all sourced or grown in the Catskills or on farms throughout New York State. And since we’re located across the street from where Woodstock took place, culture and art run through our DNA and we’re all about making extraordinary products like our gin that will stand the test of time.”

Catskill Distilling Company was awarded the gold medal in July for its Curious Gin as recognized by The Fifty Best, the international authority and unbiased guide to fine wine & spirits.
Catskill Distilling Company was founded in 2010 as an artisan New York farm distillery. It’s located in the cultural epicenter of Sullivan County, Catskills, New York, home of the original 1969 Woodstock festival and current day Bethel Performing Arts Center. Since it opened, the distillery has locally sourced or grown all of the grains, seeds, botanicals, and other ingredients that go into its innovative whiskeys and spirits.

In April 2017, Fodor’s Travel ranked Catskill Distilling Company one of the “Best distilleries in New York State”. Last year, Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America awarded the company its gold medal for its Catskill Straight Rye Whiskey.

The company’s Founder and Master Distiller, Monte Sachs, has been referred to as “part alchemist and part artist” by his peers when it comes to creating his brand of hand-crafted spirits. Catskill Distilling Company co-founder, Stacy Cohen, and Monte’s wife, is an avid cultural curator, advocate and locavore – the soul of the Catskill Distilling Company business. She also runs the Dancing Cat Saloon that sits next door to the distillery and serves Catskill Distilling Company’s craft spirits, local craft beers and fine food.

The Woodstock legacy of the area is reflected in the names of Catskill Distilling Company’s whiskeys and spirits – from Peace Vodka to Most Righteous Bourbon. It’s a place where visitors can experience Sullivan County and the rich history and heritage of its surroundings.
