Voters from across Rockland County have approved the addition of a new adaptive swimming pool complex at BOCES Jesse J. Kaplan School in West Nyack.
The high-tech, indoor therapy and fitness pools are designed to improve mobility, build confidence, increase health and wellness and will teach children with special needs to be safe around water for the rest of their lives. The 1,013 to 136 vote cleared the way for this $3.9 million upgrade, replacing the 40-year-old pool which BOCES officials said was long overdue. With funding already set aside, the project will not impact taxpayers.
