Your weekly forecast by Zachary Jacomowitz
Hello, Rockland County! I hope that you have had a great week, and are ready for the weekend and the week ahead! The weather has been all over the place as of late, with unseasonably cool temperatures just a few days ago. With that said, let us take a look at the forecast for the upcoming week.
For Friday, unsettled weather will be the theme, with mainly cloudy skies, though the rain chance will remain minimal. A few breaks of sunshine cannot be ruled out as high temperatures climb into the low to mid-80s. The shower threat will look to continue into Saturday as a frontal system will be located across the area. With this, expect high temperatures near 80°, but be advised; the chance for a cooler high does exist.
After a morning low near 62° Sunday morning, expect a high in the low 80s with partly cloudy skies. A stray shower or storm will be possible, but the chance is quite low at this time. As the new workweek kicks off on Monday, you can expect a mixture of clouds and sunshine. I’d call for a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Highs will reach into the mid-80s, so it will be on the warm side.
Tuesday is looking rather decent, weather-wise, with highs in the low to mid-80s under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. The computer forecast guidance currently differs for the middle of next week. On Wednesday, the GFS American model shows mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-80s, while the CMC Canadian model shows mostly cloudy skies with rain approaching from the south.
For now, expect partly cloudy skies with highs in the low to mid-80s. As of now, expect calm weather on Thursday, with highs in the low to mid-80s and partly cloudy skies.
Pleased be advised that computer forecast models also differ on the development of a tropical cyclone off the Atlantic coast for early next week. Should a storm develop, it would likely stay out at sea, but would increase the risk rip currents and large waves. Be aware if you are planning a beach day between Monday and Wednesday of next week. Other than that, have a great weekend!
