The late songwriter Leonard Cohen’s music will be celebrated Sunday August 27 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Borderline Folk Music Clubs annual free picnic and folk festival at Germonds Park, 185 Germonds Road, West Nyack. A talented group of performers has been organized for the event which will also feature vendors and time for performers to join in. The talent includes Whispering Tree, Accoustic Apple, The Palisades, Loretta Hagen, Peter Calo, Ron Renninger, Josh Joffen, Terry Kitchen and Maria Levine and many more. The annual Rockland County Volunteer Firemens Parade is set for September 9 in Chestnut Ridge starting at 2 p.m. from Scotland Road to Chestnut Ridge Road to Red Schoolhouse Road.The 105th RCVFA convention is September 8 starting at 7:30 p.m. at Hugh Gassner Fire Company on Red Schoolhouse Road.
