WEATHER THIS WEEK: September 1 – 7

Your weekly forecast by Zachary Jacomowitz

Hello, Rockland County! Can you believe it’s nearly September? Time sure flies. Before I begin, I’d like to send my deepest thoughts and prayers to the people of southeastern Texas and Louisiana who were affected by Hurricane Harvey and its truly biblical rainfall amounts and resulting floods. The nation stands with you.

Now, onto our forecast, which will be presented in a different format than previously.

Friday: Mostly cloudy skies. High 65° after a morning low of 49°. Chance of rain is 20%.

Saturday: Cloudy skies. High 72° after a morning low of 54°. Chance of rain is 20%.

Sunday: Cloudy skies with showers. High 72° after a morning low of 60°. Chance of rain is 70%.

Monday: Mostly sunny skies. High 80° after a morning low of 63°. Chance of rain is 10%.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy skies. Warm and humid with a high of 88° after a low of 65°. Chance of rain is 20%.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy skies. High 72° after a morning low of 58°. Chance of rain is 20%.

Thursday: Partly cloudy skies. High 71° after a morning low of 52°. Chance of rain is 20%.

SUMMARY:

After showers on Sunday, a pleasant Monday is expected. Watch for a cold front to bring showers and storms Tuesday afternoon and evening. The chance exists for more rain on Thursday, but current computer forecast modes disagree on whether a storm system will actually approach us. Have a great week, and Happy Meteorological Fall!
