“Christopher St. Lawrence” cancels all Ramapo Town Board Meetings this Election season

The Ramapo Town Clerk’s Office made a regrettable error when sending out news that the Town Board had decided to cancel its next eight scheduled public meetings. Instead of referring the Acting Supervisor Yitzy Ullman, the clerk used the pre-existent template referring to longtime former Supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence, deposed from his post following a conviction on federal corruption charges.

No official word on why the meetings have been cancelled. The acting supervisor Ullman is not seeking the post and is rather running for reelection as councilman. The board had introduced several initiatives that have yet to be completed, such as a full audit of the Ramapo Local Development Corporation and an examination of the town’s budget practices under St. Lawrence.

On Friday, a fax was sent from the clerk’s office indicating the town board will hold a special meeting 9 a.m., Tuesday, October 3 to present a tentative town budget for 2018.
