Good Samaritan Hospital’s Perinatal Bereavement Program will host the 29th Annual ‘Walk to Remember’ on Sunday, October 1.
For almost 30 years, Good Samaritan Hospital’s Perinatal Bereavement Program has provided loving support to bereaved parents in the moments during and time following the loss of a pregnancy or death of an infant. Every year, the community gathers to reflect on the memory of their babies and to connect with one another over shared experiences.
Activities at the event will include crafts for sibling children, music, poetry and name readings, planting of a memorial tree, and reflections shared by members of the Perinatal Bereavement Program. The event will conclude with the Walk to Remember, in which all able-bodied participants will walk around the perimeter of the hospital grounds, taking steps in honor of their babies.
Participants and attendees are encouraged to arrive at 12 noon. The ceremony will begin promptly 12:45 p.m. at the main entrance to Good Samaritan Hospital, located at 255 Lafayette Avenue, Suffern.
Contact the Perinatal Bereavement Program at 845-368-5297 for more information. For those unable to attend but would like to support the work of the Perinatal Bereavement Program, donations can be sent to Good Samaritan Hospital, 255 Lafayette Ave, Suffern NY, 10901 with “Perinatal Bereavement Program” written in the memo.
