Child struck by car in Clarkstown hit-and-run

CONGERS- Clarkstown PD is looking for an alleged hit-and-run driver who sent a 7-year-old girl to the hospital with an injured leg, police announced in an early morning press release

Police said the incident occurred around 8:05 a.m. this morning, Tuesday, November 21 at the intersection of Lakewood Dr. and Lakeland Ave. The vehicle that struck the child fled the scene without stopping, last seen travelling eastbound on Lakewood Dr., police said.

The Clarkstown Police Department is asking for anyone who may have been in the area and has additional information to contact the police department at 845-639-5800.

Responding officers arrived on scene, followed thereafter by by Rockland Paramedics and the Congers Volunteer Ambulance Corps. The victim was transported to Westchester Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries, possibly including a broken leg.
