Stony Point senior perishes in New City car wreck

A driver injured in a New City traffic accident Monday succumbed to her injuries later that night, Clarkstown PD has alerted the public.  The deceased individual has been identified as Louise Ruffino, 86, of Stony Point.

At approximately 2:36 p.m. Monday, December 18 the Clarkstown Police Department responded to the intersection of Rt. 304 and Cosmos Ln. in New City for a report of a two car motor vehicle accident.

The female driver of one of the vehicles, since identified as Ruffino, suffered severe injuries and was transported to Westchester Medical Center for treatment. Rt. 304 was closed in both directions from Squadron Blvd to Cosmos Ln. for several hours following the accident.

The accident investigation is still ongoing and no summons has been issued or arrest made at this time, police said.
