Fire in Monsey, NY

The blaze engulfed the vacant house

The Ramapo Police Department responded to active fire at a vacant house on Carlton Rd. in Monsey, NY around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30.

According to police, Carlton Rd. was shut down for over 6 hours while members of Monsey. Hillcrest, Tallman and Spring Valley Fire Departments battled the fire. Ramapo Valley Ambulance Corp and Rockland Paramedics were on the scene on standby for any medical needs.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, but it is under investigation by Rockland County Sherriff BCI Arson investigators as well as Ramapo PD detectives.
