Your weekly forecast by Zachary JacomowitzHello, Rockland County! I hope that you have had a great week and a great New Year’s. We have been dealing with bitter cold and snow, but is there a warm-up in sight? Let’s take a look, but first my prediction on the snow event.
As of Wednesday evening, I am predicting 2-4″ of snow for Rockland County. There is uncertainty in the forecast and we could see higher or even lower amounts, but 2-4″ is my best bet. Winds will create blowing and possibly drifting snow, which will significantly reduce visibility. Travel will be difficult and is not advised.
Friday: Mix of clouds and sun and very cold. High near 11ยฐ after a low of 1ยฐ. Chance of snow is 0%,Saturday: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Very cold, with a high near 10ยฐ after a low near -1ยฐ. Chance of snow is 10%.SUMMARY:Bitter cold will stick around right through the weekend before we see a moderation in temperatures early next week. Arctic air looks to return by the middle to latter half of next week. A storm system looks possible for Monday, and it could some snow showers, but there is uncertainty. Stay warm and safe!
