HOSPITAL OFFERS SLED HOCKEY SESSIONS WITH THE NY RANGERS

The Helen Hayes Hospitalย Adapted Sports & Recreation Program will once again offer its exciting sledย hockey program in conjunction with theย New York Rangers Sled Hockey Team inย early 2018. Free sled hockey training sessions will take place on January 25 andย February 22 from 6:15-9 p.m.ย atย Madison Square Garden Trainingย Centerโ€”the New York Rangersโ€™ training center in Greenburgh, NY.

Created as a joint effort of the New York Rangersย and the Wheelchair Sports Federation, the New York Rangers Sled Hockey leagueย provides adults and children withย disabilities the opportunity to play iceย hockey. The New York Rangers Sled Hockey Team competes in the Northeast Sledย Hockey League wearing the coveted Newย York Rangers jersey. Team members will beย on-hand to provide Helen Hayes Hospital Adapted Sports & Recreationย participants with hands-on sled hockeyย instruction as well as the use of allย safety pads and equipment.

Sled hockey sessions are open to participants ofย all levels and adapted equipment will be provided. Pre-registration is requiredย byย January 19 and February 16,ย respectively. The Adapted Sports & Recreation Program atย Helen Hayes Hospital is a 4-season program that offers sports and recreationย opportunities to individuals withย disabilities of all skill levels.
