The Clarkstown Police Department responded to a report of a residential burglary on Kings Highway in Congers on Saturday Jan. 13.
Police said the 36-year old female homeowner contacted the police after she pulled into her driveway returning from a family event and observed a male with a dark hoodie standing in her living room through the window.
The suspect saw the woman and appeared to move quickly from the window to the rear of the home.
The victim, along with her 3-year old son, awaited the help of police from her car.
Responding patrol units began an immediate and extensive search of the home, utilizing officers and K-9 units, however no suspect has been located at this time.
The Clarkstown Detective Bureau responded to the scene and began an initial investigation, which revealed that some cash and jewelry were stolen from the residence and there was no sign of forced entry.
The case will now be investigated and updates will be provided as they become available.
