A new position of full-time county auditor was established in the 2018 county budget to help keep “a closer eye on the county books.”
County Executive Ed Day announced last week that Linda Hill will be those eyes looking closely over county finances. Hill has been a county worker since 1984, most recently in the Finance and Budget Dept. She is a lifelong Rockland resident, currently living in Stony Point.
“Linda is a classic example of what should be a measure for promotion, dedication and talent,” said Day, who initially proposed the position in his executive budget. “We have every expectation that she will keep looking under the hood to make sure Rockland County operates at maximum efficiency. In addition, her prime directive is to root out any hint of corruption and work with the proper investigative agencies to protect the taxpayers of this county.”
