NYC man arrested in connection to synagogue burglaries

A suspect from New York City was arrested in connection with synagogue burglaries in the Monsey area, Ramapo Police officials say. 

The suspect, identified as 42-year-old Joel Jungries, allegedly entered and stole money from three synagogues, located on Monsey Boulevard and Suzanne Drive, on Jan. 6.

He returned to the same two synagogues on Monsey Blvd. on Jan. 20. 

The Ramapo Police Department Investigations Division identified Jungries and arrested him on Jan. 23.

He was charged with five counts of burglary and one count of grand larceny each in the third degree, and two counts each of petit larceny and possession of burglar tools.

Jungries was arraigned on all charges and released on his own recognizance pending future court appearance.
