Girl fatally struck by Satmar school bus

A 5-year-old girl was struck and killed by a Satmar school bus Friday in Monsey. The child had just gotten off the school bus near her home in the area of South Madison Avenue and West Funston Street in Spring Valley when she was struck.

Sources have told Mid-Hudson News that first responders, including Hatzolah paramedics and Spring Valley Police, responded to the scene to provide life-saving measures but were unable to revive the young girl.

This is the second such tragedy to occur in Rockland County this year. In January, an 8-year-old boy was struck and killed by a school bus in the Village of New Square.
