Grease’s original Frenchy vists Nyack High School Drama Club

Since the movie’s bombshell hit in 1978, everyone knows that “Grease” is the word—especially original Frenchy actress Didi Conn! This made it particularly special when Conn showed up to a rehearsal of Nyack High School’s recent production of “Grease,” which ran March 16 through March 23. Conn found out about the local show when she was visiting a Rockland store and the shop owner shared that his daughter would be playing a lead role. Soon after, the famous actress showed up at rehearsal with boxes of donuts and even spoke with the cast about her time on set. Conn also posted a video to Facebook for the cast, in which she wished the cast the best of luck.

“’Grease’ is really about the firsts in people’s lives,” Conn said in her video to Nyack High School students. “The first love, first car, first breakup—first career disappointment for Frenchy! But those firsts are exciting, juicy and wonderful. And as you’re exploring during rehearsal you’ll see that that energy is really what Grease is all about—the love for each other. As we say at the end, ‘we’ll always be together!’”
