Former Haverstraw Police Sergeant Joins Rockland D.A.’s Office

James McNamme, a former member of both the NYPD and Village of Haverstraw Police Department, has joined the Rockland County District Attorney’s office as their new Detective Lieutenant. Lt. James McNamee was born and raised in the Village of Haverstraw. He graduated from St. Peter’s Elementary School in Haverstraw and from St Joseph Regional HS in Montvale, NJ and attended Rockland Community College in Suffern.

Lt. McNamme joined the NYPD in 1991, and served with the 47 precinct  in the Bronx before he  was hired by the Village of Haverstraw PD in 1997. In 2006 the Village and Town merged police departments and Lt. McNamme became a town police officer. In 2013, he was promoted to Sergeant and worked the midnight shift for many years. During his time with the Haverstraw Police Department Lt. McNamee served as the Town Of Haverstraw PBA President for 6 years. . The D.A.’s office has expressed pride in the new hire, stating that Lt. McNamee brings a great deal of experience and expertise to the outfit.  Rockland County Clerk Donna Silberman administered his oath of office.
