Patterson residents arrested after brandishing gun at Nanuet Home Depot

On Friday, August 2, 2024, the Clarkstown Police Department received reports that two males were in a dispute, with one of the males brandishing a handgun in the Home Depot parking lot located at 43 Hutton Ave., Nanuet.

As Clarkstown Police officers arrived on the scene an off-duty Clarkstown Police detective provided crucial information, describing a shirtless male with a gun engaging in a dispute with another male. The unknown male fled into the store, while the armed suspect and a female accomplice entered a black BMW X3 and fled the parking lot.

The description allowed responding officers to locate and stop the suspect’s vehicle on Route 59 near Grandview Ave. in Nanuet. Both occupants of the BMW, later identified as Adreon Clair, 26, and Ashley Clair, 26, both from Patterson, NJ, were detained for questioning.

During the investigation, an officer discovered a black semi-automatic handgun partially visible in a handbag on the front passenger side of the vehicle. The firearm was secured and found to be loaded with fifteen rounds of ammunition in the magazine and one round in the chamber.

Mr. Adreon Clair and Ms. Ashley Clair were placed under arrest and transported to Clarkstown Police Headquarters for processing. They have been charged with the Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Unlawful Possession of a Certain Ammo-Feed Device 

Both suspects were arraigned in the Town of Clarkstown Justice Court, where the magistrate set bail at $20,000 for Mr. Adreon Clair and $10,000 for Ms. Ashley Clair. Following the arraignment, they were transported to the Rockland County Jail.
