All in With John Jastremski

The Giants enter the 2024 season with limited expectations.

They are coming off a season in which they only won six games and they lost Saquon Barkley to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Now, all summer, the narrative will be front and center on quarterback Daniel Jones.

How will Jones respond from the ACL Injury? How will he develop chemistry with 1st round Malik Nabers?

These are obvious Giant questions that need positive answers for a successful 2024 season.

However, there is another big key to a successful Giants turnaround.

A subplot that wont generate the same attention thatโ€™s being paid to the quarterback.

The Giants strategy on defense is in many ways trying to pay tribute to the great defenseโ€™s of their past.

The Giants have invested a lot of resources into their defensive line.

There is a whole lot of salary, draft capital and investment in Dexter Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns.

On paper, those three should form one of the best defensive fronts in the NFL.ย

Lawrence and Thibodeaux have already played at a high level the last two seasons and the hope is that the addition of Burns transforms the defensive line.

Burns profiles as the classic speed, edge rusher that has been lacking from this defense for quite some time.

Look, outside of the Giants pass rush, there are a whole lot of questions on defense.

Questions especially in the secondary.

The Giants need their defensive line to wreck games. It doesnโ€™t have to be Strahan, Tuck & Osi good, but it had better honor the tradition of elite Giant pass rush units.

When you want to start plotting reasons for why the Giants could surprise in 2024, this trio should be at the top of your list…
