Can Giants Pull Another Daboll Surprise?

The start of the NFL season brings out the optimist in just about all of us.

The 2024 New York Giants are one of the few franchises this year that will put that optimism to the test considering the perception of the team in early September.ย

Letโ€™s take it back two seasons ago.ย

The Giants entered Brian Dabollโ€™s first season with similar and probably even lower expectations in 2022.

Letโ€™s remember what shook out.ย

The Giants won the first game of the season as considerable underdogs against the Tennessee Titans in stunning fashion.

Brian Daboll went for 2, it worked and the rest, as they say, is history.

Everything went right for the Giants two years ago, but the successful season was jump started by their dramatic Week 1 win.ย

The Giants lost Saquon Barkley from the team two years ago, but they finally have a legitimate #1 wide receiver.

Malik Nabers is the best wide out the Giants have had since Odell Beckham Jr.

If he canโ€™t help salvage Daniel Jones this season, nothing will.ย

In addition to Nabers, the Giants added one of the premiere pass rushers in football, Brian Burns, to a unit that already features Dexter Lawrence and Kavon Thibodeaux.

The Giants donโ€™t have a ton of depth and by no means think that 2024 will be 2022 all over again.

That said, the NFC is top heavy, the NFC East is not as good as its been at the top.

Maybe a win Sunday on the Vikings will let you dream a little?

The million dollar question heading into the 2024 Giants season other than the future of Daniel Jones is can this team get you to Thanksgiving with a pulse!?

Iโ€™ll take the action on yes…
