RPD investigate fatal car accident

On Monday, September 9, 2024, the Ramapo Police Department responded to Calvert Drive in the Village of Kaser, Town of Ramapo, for a reported vehicle that had struck a child. Upon arrival, Police Officers were advised that a 2-year-old child was struck by a 2014 Honda Odyssey and had sustained life-threatening injuries. The child was transported to Nyack Hospital by Hatzolah Ambulance and later succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old resident of Monsey, was not injured and remained on scene. The driver is cooperating with the investigation.

There are no criminal charges at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the Ramapo Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit.
