This past Tuesday, Rockland County Executive Ed Day unveiled his proposed 2025 $876 million budget, which includes a two percent county property tax cut.
The spending plan also includes a cryptocurrency and real time crime center; a behavioral health training institute and office of people with developmental disabilities navigator program; $1.3 million to the HERROES College Tuition Reimbursement Program for volunteer emergency responders; and 10 percent funding increase to nonprofit contract agencies and 224 agencies.
โWe are operating this administration the way government should operate, by keeping spending low, alleviating costs, and re-investing in our residents,โ Day said.
โWe look forward to working with the county executive and his staff to make sure the 2025 county budget works for all of our residents and continues to provide the many important services they need โ from public safety to social services to support for our vital nonprofit organizations,โ said County Legislature Chairman Jay Hood Jr.
