A 53-year-old Spring Valley woman was killed on Monday when the car in which she was a passenger was involved in a crash with another vehicle at the intersection of New Hempstead Road and Summit Park Road in the Town of Ramapo.
Police said at about 9:30 a.m. a 2000 Ford Taurus was driven by a 69-year-old man who was transporting the female passenger, both from Spring Valley. The passenger died and the driver was taken to Montefiore Nyack Hospital for injuries.
A 2007 Honda Accord driven by a 19-year-old New City man was traveling westbound on New Hempstead Road and the Ford was going eastbound attempting to make a left turn onto Summit Park Road when the crash occurred, police said.
The crash is under investigation by the Town of Ramapo Police Crash Investigation Unit.
