Jumper survives leap from Tappan Zee Bridge

 An individual survived a leap from the Mario Cuomo Tappan Zee Bridge on Sunday afternoon. First responders from several agencies were dispatched to the area just after 3 p.m. after 911 received a report of a person who had jumped from the northbound span that connects Rockland and Westchester counties.

Rescuers on Tarrytown Fire Department Marine 5 located the person in the river and brought the person aboard their vessel for transport.  When pulled from the water, the person who jumped from mid-span was conscious and alert.
