Download The โ€œMy Clarkstownโ€ App Today: A Quick and Easy Way to Report Issues

In the post 9/11 world, the phrase โ€œIf you see something, say somethingโ€ has become ingrained in our everyday language. While the original intent behind this slogan was to encourage the public to report on suspicious activity related to potential terror threats, the phrase is also highly applicable to alerting local governments to all kinds of potential issues from potholes to emergencies. Typically, people arenโ€™t shy to โ€œsay something,โ€ but they arenโ€™t always sure where to best communicate their concerns.ย  In an effort to make this as easy as possible for our residents, the Town of Clarkstown made its first investment in a 311 reporting system in 2016, creating an easy process to submit requests and concerns. The 311 system has been a great success in bringing issues to the attention of the appropriate town staff in a quick and efficient manner, often resulting in faster resolutions to these issues.

As we all know, technology is always changing.ย  Iโ€™m delighted to announce the Town has switched to a newer and more robust civic app, which allows for better efficiencies in how requests are managed and responded to. Our new โ€œMy Clarkstownโ€ app is up and running andย will result in significant improvements in ensuring that town government is open, transparent, and accessible to all residents.

You can download the new free app through the Android or Apple stores by searching โ€œMy Clarkstown.โ€ย  Once downloaded, the app can be easily identified by the Townโ€™s official seal image. The new app features a number of design improvements. Opening the app will bring up a user-friendly menu providing links to the information most commonly searched for by residents.

Users can report an issue, view the town calendar, find contact information for elected officials, find town parks and offices, and sign up for Ready Clarkstown emergency alerts. Clicking on the

โ€œReport an Issueโ€ link will open a list of categories such as โ€œLights and Treesโ€ or โ€œStreets, Sidewalks, and Signs.โ€ The app will guide you to provide the information necessary to log your issue and get it moving through the process.

Making the system easier to use for residents is only part of the improvements. Behind the scenes, the new app will enable town staff to better manage requests, improve the process flow, and provide better and faster feedback to the residents.

So, go to the app store on your phone today and download the โ€œMy Clarkstownโ€ app to start interacting with your local town government. If you see something, you now have a quicker and easier way to โ€œsay something.
