Rockland Man Accused of Conspiracy

In November of 2024, the Ramapo Police department was made aware of a plot to commit assault and robbery of a local business employee by a man on parole for crimes of a similar nature. They found that the man suspected of this criminal plot had recruited several others in his planning, including a juvenile. Detective Lt. Christopher Franklin announced that the Ramapo police, in collaboration with the New York State Parole Division, arrested 42 year old Sloatsburg resident Roberto Astacio on December 27th for a parole violation. An investigation by the State Parole Division and the Ramapo Police resulted in establishing probable cause, leading to Astacioโ€™s arrest. After his arrest, Astacio was remanded to Rockland County Jail where he was charged with Conspiracy 4th Degree, Criminal Solicitation 4th Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child by the Ramapo Police Investigations Division. Astacio remains accused, and should be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
