NYACK: Edward Hopper House, PORTAL: The Window in American Photography
This exhibition of gelatin silver prints and color photographs date from the late 1920s to early 2000s. Collectively, they reveal how photographers employ a window as a pictorial device to frame and anchor each image and, technically and theoretically, to employ it as a recognizable transparent space, or threshold, between figures on each side. Despite the differences between the images, the photographers in this exhibition — and painter Edward Hopper — share an exploration of the storytelling capabilities of a simple aperture. The exhibition will be on display until April 27th. Go to edwardhopperhouse.org or call 845-358-0774 for more information. 82 N. Broadway, Nyack NY 10960

Furry Friend of the Week
Meet Jamie!
Jamie is a one-eyed beauty with a unique story! She was trapped as part of our TNVR program with a wonky eye that seemed to be injured from her time on the street. After she was spayed, instead of releasing her, Jamie went to a foster while waiting for her eye to heal. This time indoors gave Jamie the chance to show her true personality — not a feral cat, but a silly and sassy girl who enjoys human companionship! Jamie loves to play and it is the fastest way to her heart, along with churu of course. Ultimately, Jamie’s eye needed to be removed, but there are no longterm complications, and she can still see and navigate the world perfectly with her one good eye.
Possibly due to her time in a colony, Jamie does NOT like other cats and would prefer to be the only pet in the home. She is a diva who needs to be the center of attention! She is a loveable, sweet, amazing cat who deserves a forever home with someone to love her and give her the attention she craves. If you are interested in meeting her please call us at the Shelter 845-414-9700. Adoption Application can be found on line: https://www.fourlegsgoodnynj.org/adoption-application.html
