Lawler reintroduces bill to name Haverstraw Post Office after former clerk Paul Piperato

This week, Congressman Mike Lawler announced the reintroduction of a bill to officially rename the U.S. Postal Service facility located at 86 Main Street in Haverstraw, New York, as the โ€œPaul Piperato Post Office Building.โ€

Paul Piperato served as Rockland County Clerk for 15 years and worked tirelessly to improve county services. He developed a cutting-edge computer imaging system, launched an accessible 24/7 online records portal, and introduced the highly successful Veteran Discount Program, RETURN THE F.A.V.O.R. His efforts in maintaining Naturalization Ceremonies for new citizens and introducing eFiling and eRecording services marked him as a visionary in local government innovation.

โ€œPaul dedicated over three decades to public service, serving as Rockland County Clerk and spearheading innovative programs that continue to benefit the community today,โ€ said Congressman Lawler (NY-17). โ€œThis bill is a small token of appreciation for his hard work, leadership, and passion for serving others.โ€

โ€œPaulโ€™s legacy as a leader, public servant, and advocate for both veterans and residents of Rockland County will continue to inspire future generations,โ€ concluded Congressman Lawler (NY-17). โ€œBy renaming the Haverstraw Post Office to honor Paul Piperato, we wish to honor his lifelong commitment to the people of Rockland County.โ€
