The County Executive’s Corner: Help Us Shape Our Future!

One of the core principles of my administration is simple but powerful: we believe in listening to you. In Rockland County, our goal is not just to serve residents—it’s to collaborate with them. We want to hear your concerns, your ideas, and your vision for the place we all call home. Because when government and community work together, the result is a stronger, healthier, and more resilient county.

That’s why I’m proud to highlight two important opportunities where your voice can make a real difference—our first-ever Economic Forum on May 14, and the 2nd Annual Mental Health Community Forum on May 15. Both events are designed to inform, engage, and empower you to help shape the future of Rockland.

In celebration of Economic Development Week, our newly appointed Director of Economic Development and Tourism, Jenna Nazario, is hosting the Rockland County Economic Forum with the Rockland Business Association and the Rockland County Industrial Development Agency. This first-of-its-kind event is split into two sessions: a morning session for stakeholders such as businesses, municipal leaders, and nonprofit organizations, and an evening session open to the public.

The evening session is your chance to gain insight into Rockland’s economic landscape, ask questions, and share your perspective on the challenges and opportunities we face. We’ll explore topics like job creation, infrastructure, housing, and innovation. Most importantly, you’ll help guide how we grow—and grow smarter. In our commitment to making public participation more accessible, we’re offering free childcare for children ages 4 to 9 during the evening session. Advance registration is required, and we encourage you to sign up early.

Just one day later, on May 15, the Rockland County Department of Mental Health will host the 2nd Annual Virtual Community Forum, focused on the broad range of services we provide for Mental Health, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Use Disorders.

This forum is a key opportunity for residents to share feedback, ask questions, and learn more about how to access critical services in our community. Whether you are looking for help, supporting a loved one, working in the field, or simply want to get more informed, your input is incredibly valuable. We also encourage residents to complete the Community Services Survey, which helps us better understand current needs and identify areas where we can strengthen our system of care.

These forums are more than just events—they are an essential part of how we shape public policy. They provide a platform for residents to be heard and a direct line to the departments working hard to deliver meaningful change.

From day one, my administration has made it a priority to ensure that every Rockland resident has a seat at the table. Whether it’s in the areas of economic development, mental health, public safety, or community well-being—we are actively working to create more inclusive, transparent, and responsive government.

We are proud of the progress we’ve made, but we know there is always more to do—and we know the best way forward is together. Your voice helps shape the decisions we make and the direction we take. So I invite you to show up, speak out, and be part of building a brighter future for all who call Rockland home.

Join us. Let your voice be heard. Because in Rockland County, your input isn’t just welcomed—it’s essential.
