Rockland Nissan Steers The Way

Scott Corbett has been in the automotive business for a while. A lifelong resident of Rockland, Corbett began his career at Rockland Nissan in July of 2016 after years spent self employed, and quickly advanced from the sales floor to upper management. Propelled by his peopleโ€™s skills, Corbett spent time at multiple Nissan dealerships within the Dealer group along with other brands such as Hyundai GMC and Buick before returning to Rockland Nissan as the General Manager, having established a reputation for dedicated customer service.

โ€œThis is where I started as a salesperson on the floor, it is like a homecoming for me,โ€ Corbett told the RCT.

During his tenure at Rockland Nissan, Corbett has helped quite a number of familiar faces in their search for an affordable ride and has taken pride in facilitating good deals for his fellow Rockland residents.

โ€œOne of the first weeks I was here, I actually helped a woman that had been my lunch lady when I was in elementary school in Lakewood.โ€

In some ways Corbett views his work at Rockland Nissan as giving back to the community. After an unsuccessful attempt to launch his own small business and within a few hours of watching his wifeโ€™s car get repossessed, he suggested to his wife to go to Rockland Nissan to see she could get a car before the reposession impacted their credit. During the sales process, Corbett came to find out that the finance manager had been a family friend. He suggested to Corbettโ€™s wife that Corbett should come and sell cars until he figured out what he would do going forward. โ€œAdmittedly, selling cars wasnโ€™t something I ever saw myself doing, and after a little push from my wife and family I gave it a shotโ€

โ€œThis business kept my family from near homelessness, six months into the job we were back on our feet. It totally changed the course of my life. Itโ€™s been a very rewarding,โ€ says Corbett.

Nearly a decade later, Corbett is as driven as he was on day one and has continued to expand his skill set to better serve his clients.

โ€œIโ€™m one month away from Graduating NADA school,โ€ Corbett was proud to share. With this new certification, Corbett now has the skills and insider knowledge of a lobbyist and can pass that experience on to his customers. โ€œIt definitely gives me a much more well rounded vision of each department and how to grow each department,โ€ he explained.

Thanks to his training, Corbett is the authority on when and what to buy, what price fluctuations to expect, and how developments in Washington can impact consumer spending habits. Corbett was happy to tell the RCT that Rockland Nissan still has a large stock of cars imported before โ€œLiberation Dayโ€, their price unaffected by new tariffs.

While Corbett takes pride in accommodating his customers, the manager also expressed his faith in the brand, all but telling the RCT that the cars are capable of selling themselves.  Nissan was one of the first companies to roll out an electric automobile and consistently ranks as one of the top rated non-luxury brands available in the U.S. Rocklanders looking for an affordable new car and a reliable dealer would do well to pay Rockland Nissan a visit. Scott is looking to continue the tradition of pride that comes along with winning Nissanโ€™s Global award of excellence 2022, 2023 and 2024.
