Greek and Polish Festivals Coming to Orangetown

May 2025 will now be recognized as ALS Awareness Month in the town of Orangetown. 

In all things goat related news, 27 goats from the company “Fat and Sassy Goats” have been spending the last two weeks eating overgrowth at Homes for Heroes. Kenny has visited the goats herself two times, and we must admit we would do the same! The goats were approved to be paid for their 14 days of chomping down on Rockland grass – “Gotta make sure those goats are paid!” said Kenny, eliciting smiles from attendants during a late May town hall. 

Rockland County is overflowing with celebrations and parades in the next few weeks. Palisades Memorial Day Parade, Sparkill Memorial Day Parade, and the Tappan Memorial Day Parade will all take place on Monday the 26th. The Palisades Parade will take place from 8:45 a.m. – 9:45 a.m., the Sparkill Parade from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., and the Tappan Parade from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

The Polish Festival will be held May 30th from 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., May 31st from 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. and June 1st from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. The 2025 Greek Festival will be held from June 5th to June 8th. The Santacruzan Holy Cross Procession will take place on May 31st from 9:50 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

All of the festivities were approved to be lent assistance from the Superintendent of Highways and Chief of Police.
