Community Gun Buyback Event to Be Held June 5

Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco III announced a community gun buyback event to be held on Thursday June 5, 2025, from 3:00pm – 7:00pm at St. Joseph’s Church, 245 N. Main St. Spring Valley, NY. This event is being held in partnership with the Spring Valley Police, along with the New York State Police, the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office and all local law enforcement agencies.

“Gun violence continues to threaten our county, state and the entire nation. Removing firearms from our streets can potentially prevent them from being used in criminal and other violent acts that negatively impact our communities. I am proud to partner with the Spring Valley Police Department and all of Rockland County law enforcement in our ongoing efforts to keep the people safe”, Sheriff Falco said.

Guns can be turned in anonymously, no identification is required, and no questions asked. Payments for surrendered guns will be made by pre-paid gift cards under the following payment schedule:

Assault Rifles: $250.00

Handguns: $150.00

Rifles or Shotguns: $75.00

Non-Working or Antique Guns: $25.00

Firearms are to be transported unloaded and in the trunk of a vehicle. Licensed gun dealers and active or retired law enforcement are not eligible to participate in this program.
