NYACK: Big Red Books, Writing Playshop for Children

A Summer Writing Course for 8-12 year-olds, taught by Victoria Oltarsh, award-winning sci-fi, Middle-Grade author of The Boy and the Secret of the Stars, published lyricist, and lifelong playwriting and theater teacher. Victoria will guide children in how to create their own original story and begin a first draft of their book. We will explore settings, book categories, plot points, character development, how to write dialogue, and story arcs. This presentation with Mario Medici will include photos of the islandโ€™s limited access south side, the unrestored Ellis Island Immigrant General Hospital Complex and Contagious Disease Hospital.
