There is one four letter word that strikes more fear into people than any other – love. Most of us are not born with a map to navigate the trenches of identifying, growing, and supporting healthy love, leaving many feeling up a creek. Thankfully, Jones-Ariettaโs new book Iron Love is a guidebook to love in all its forms.
Jones-Ariettaโs parents were not in a position to provide her with her own strong compass for love and relationships. Her true north was her grandmother, but following her passing Jones-Arietta found herself three months pregnant, 17 years old and completely adrift.ย
After graduating from a school for teen moms, Jones-Arietta used a combination of public assistance and exotic dancing as a means to support herself and her new daughter. With her daughterโs father imprisoned, Jones-Arietta was striking out on her own.ย
From these beginnings as a teen mother to todayโs real estate champion with a 25 year marriage, Jones-Arietta has sampled a lot of the highs and lows of life. Sheโs here to share what sheโs learned and inspire others to recognize the love in their life while gently reminding them there is no rainbow without the rain.ย
Iron Love is broken down into the nine phases of The Iron Love in question. These sections are brief chapters with examples from Jones-Ariettaโs own experiences and finished off with actionable steps. Jones-Ariettaโs writing continuously asks readers to question their own beliefs around love and relationships, something that works well to induce that initiative needed. When it feels like your cool older sister is giving you the facts of life, you listen.ย
These sections also help to unveil the many and ever-changing faces of love in our lives. From experiencing loss to identifying patterns to overcoming fear, no stone is left unturned. As she said herself, โI donโt sugar coat in the book. Itโs raw. Itโs real. These are my experiences.โ
While Jones-Ariettaโs advice uses the concept of love as a conduit, each piece of advice is easily applied to any aspect of life, whether it be relationships, raising kids, dream cars and even dream careers. โI say recognizing love, but it could very well be recognizing opportunitiesโ
Walking hand in hand with accepting opportunities is the ability to accept your less than positive experiences rather than becoming stuck in the toxic whirlpool of those negative experiences. โThere are a lot of unfortunate things that have happened,โ said Jones-Arietta โ…but they donโt make me and they donโt make anyone.โ
Readers can follow Jones-Ariettaโs journey on Instagram @IronLoveBook, at IronLoveBook.com, or by attending her debut at Nyackโs Bath House on July 11th from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. While Jones-Arietta was tight lipped about the celebration, it promises to be a not-so-typical book launch fit for a not-so-typical woman.ย
Following her Nyack debut, Jones-Arietta and her husband will embark on a Round 2 of their honeymoon. The pair will drive down the East Coast, making stops to meet readers at The Book Exchange in Virginia Beach, Books & Books in Coral Gables, making a quick flight out to Detroit for Detroit Book Fest, then continuing on with their East Coast Beach Tour.ย
