A 20-year-old Spring Valley man was arrested on Tuesday, July 22 for allegedly shooting up a parked vehicle at 60 East Eckerson Road on Saturday, the 19th.
Spring Valley Police said Anderson Alvarado-Jimenez fired a .22 caliber revolver several times, striking a parked car at around 9:50 p.m.
He then left the scene and returned with an assault rifle allegedly firing 20 more times at the vehicle. Police said two of the bullets entered nearby apartments where children were playing, but no one was injured by gunfire.
The weapons used in the incident were recovered by the State Police Under Water Recovery Team in the Town of Haverstraw.
Alvarado-Jimenez was charged with criminal use of a firearm, four counts of criminal possession of a firearm, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, and tampering with physical evidence.
