A full report on the 2023 deaths of Watson Morgan, Ornela Morgan, and their two sons has been published by the New York Office of Special Investigation.
According to the investigationa, after Bronxville Police officer Watson Morgan failed to show up for his shift, Lieutenant William Carroll of the BPD called the Clarkstown Police Department requesting that the department perform a welfare check on Morgan.
After arriving at the house, CPD Officer Peter Saladino found the lights on and began knocking. After receiving no response Saldino tried the door, found it unlocked and proceeded to enter the home alongside fellow CPD officers.
Upon entering the home, officers found the bodies of Watson Morgan’s wife and son in the living room, and the bodies of Watson Morgan and his second son in a bedroom.
A gun registered to Watson Morgan was found in the house with four expended shell casings. CPD Detective Robert Fortune gathered the shell casings found in the home as well as a shell casing from a test shot performed by officers, sending the casing to the National Integrated Ballistics Information Network (NIBIN) for further testing. The NIBIN confirmed that the shell casings found were a match to the shell casing deployed from the test shot. All DNA swabs from the trigger, grip and slide of the gun had Watson Morgan’s DNA present.
According to the autopsy, all four individuals died from gunshots to the head. There were no other injuries on any of the bodies, and Watson Morgan’s toxicology report showed no signs of any drugs or alcohol.
