Rockland Teachers Encouraged to Apply for Innovative Teaching Grant

As we return to the classroom, parents and children quickly remember how teachers are the backbone of our society. Every day, teachers come to work and  tirelessly support their students social, emotional and educational wellbeing. To achieve this, teachers  are constantly pushing themselves to evolve and innovate to meet the needs of their students. Unfortunately, these educational superheroes are not always adequately financially supported by their districts. This financial strain creates barriers for teachers, keeping them from being as creative as their students deserve. Optimum wants to change this with their Innovative Teaching Grant Program.

The Rockland Community Foundation, an organization working to improve the quality of life in the region, and Optimum, the leading provider of fiber internet, mobile, and TV services, have announced a call for submissions for the 2025-2026 Innovative Teaching Grant program.

Made possible by Optimum’s $15,000 donation through education nonprofit DonorsChoose, the program encourages and recognizes teachers engaged in exciting, creative, and innovative methods of instruction, and provides funding to implement them throughout Rockland County’s K-12 schools.

Local Rockland County public-school teachers can apply for a grant at app.smarterselect.com/programs/104235-Rockland-Community-Foundation. The deadline is September 15th at 11:59 p.m. The Rockland Community Foundation and Optimum expect to announce grant recipients in early fall.

This grant comes as part of Optimum’s efforts to make a positive impact in the communities they serve. Optimum is working to continues to find ways to deepen its community presence as well as champion local programs that help inspire and educate future innovators. Optimum hopes that the Innovative Teaching Grant program will be a testament to this commitment to customers and businesses in the area, further deepening the company’s presence in Rockland County.
