Clarkstown Democratic Committee To Hold Party Candidate Forum

The Clarkstown Democratic Committee will host a democratic candidate forum on Wednesday, October 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. The event will be held at the Clarkstown Town Hall and will feature the Clarkstown Democratic Candidates for Supervisor and Town Council, as well as four Democratic candidates for New York’s 17th Congressional District.

The Clarkstown Democratic Slate for town races include: Eugene Bondar, running for Clarkstown Supervisor; Mark Licker, running for re-election for Town Council Ward 1; Gregory Sheehan, running for Town Council Ward 2; Daniel Maher, running for Town Council Ward 3; and Gina De Felice, running for Town Council Ward 4.

The four contenders in the Democratic primary race for Congress in NY-17 — Cait Conley, Beth Davidson, Michael Sacks, and John Sullivan — were invited to this forum as the top four campaign fundraisers for the second quarter of 2025, not including personal contributions and loans.

The remaining Democratic candidates will be invited to a second forum to be held in the near future.

Greg Sheehan, Chair of the Clarkstown Democratic Committee and Candidate for Ward 2, said, “I’m pleased that the Clarkstown Democratic Committee has stepped up to host a candidate forum with local and congressional candidates. It’s disappointing that organizations in Clarkstown that have held candidate forums year after year chose not to this election cycle. Regardless of whether we agree or disagree on the issues, Clarkstown residents have the right to know what those running to represent them stand for and to have their questions answered. My running mates and I invite everyone to attend this forum — to hear our perspectives and ask questions. We can only be the best Clarkstown possible when everyone’s voices are heard.”

This event is free and open to everyone.
