Historical Building Donated

Supervisor George Hoehmann and the Town Board are proud to announce that Tilcon New York Inc. has generously donated the historic Storms Tavern property to the Town. This donation marks a significant milestone in the preservation of Clarkstown’s history and ensures that this cherished local landmark will remain a part of the community for generations to come. Storms Tavern, located at 407 Storms Road in Valley Cottage, dates back to the 18th century and stands as one of Clarkstown’s most recognizable and historically significant structures. The building has long served as a reminder of the town’s colonial heritage. Thanks to Town Historian Larry Kigler and Joe Barbieri from the New City Library for also joining the official signing of documents with Tilcon VP of Finance Graig Aimone.  The Town will evaluate future plans for the property with an emphasis on preservation and public use.
