Stitch Head – Animation

High above the little town of Grubbers Nubbin, in a castle laboratory, the maddest of all mad professors brings monstrous creations to (almost) life… and then promptly forgets all about them. So, who runs the castle? Who keeps the monsters in line, so the townsfolk don’t form an angry mob? That job falls to Stitch Head – the professor’s very first creation. He does it all, unnoticed and unthanked. But when a ramshackle freak show rolls into town, its sly owner, Fulbert Freakfinder, comes knocking, offering Stitch Head fame, fortune… and maybe even love. A whimsical, heartfelt twist on the Frankenstein legend, Stitch Head is a comedy adventure for monsters of every age

Nuremberg – Drama

Nuremberg chronicles the true story of the eponymous trials held by the Allies against the defeated Nazi regime. The film centers on American psychiatrist Douglas Kelley, who is tasked with determining whether Nazi prisoners are fit to stand trial for their war crimes and finds himself in a complex battle of wits with Hermann Goring, Hitler’s right-hand man.

Roofman – Action

Based on an unbelievable true story, Roofman follows Jeffrey Manchester, a former Army Ranger and struggling father who turns to robbing McDonald’s restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs, earning him the nickname: Roofman. After escaping prison, he secretly lives inside a Toys “R” Us for six months, surviving undetected while planning his next move. But when he falls for Leigh, a divorced mom drawn to his undeniable charm, his double life begins to unravel, setting off a compelling and suspenseful game of cat and mouse as his past closes in.

Author Talk with Ralph White and D. Z. Stone

In the final two weeks of the Vietnam War, Chase Manhattan Bank assigned Ralph White, then 27 years old, to its Saigon branch to keep it open and assist the staff if possible. One day later, 40,000 enemy troops marched into the city. The bank’s Vietnamese employees faced likely execution. Ralph’s book Getting Out of Saigon relates his eyewitness account of his own experience assisting his fellow employees as well as the astonishing cascade of coincidences and personalities he encountered as tension in the doomed city built to the breaking point.

Post-9/11, Ralph traded his corporate finance career for public service and writing. He founded and, for ten years, served as the president of the Columbia Fiction Foundry, a writing workshop for alumni of Columbia University. He currently serves as its chairman.

D. Z. Stone is an author and journalist whose non-fiction books focus on the Holocaust and its aftermath. Her articles have appeared in The New York Times and Newsday. She previously interviewed author Ralph White and wrote about him for The Foreign Service Journal. She resides in Sparkill.

Auditions for The Book Of Will

Elmwood Playhouse in Nyack, NY will be holding auditions for its upcoming production of The Book Of Will, written by Lauren Gunderson and directed by Lisa Spielman. The Book Of Will is the story of friendship and loss, art and legacy, against the backdrop of Shakespeare’s first published work.

AUDITIONS: Tuesday, November 18th at 7:00pm and Wednesday, November 19th at 7:00pm

CALLBACKS: Thursday, November 20th at 7:00pm (by invitation only)

PERFORMANCES: Friday, March 13th through Saturday, April 11th 2026 (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays with possible Wednesdays and Thursdays) NOTE: There will be NO performances over Easter weekend (April 3rd, 4th, and 5th 2026)

SHOW DESCRIPTION:

The Book of Will is about Shakespeare’s work, but it is not Shakespeare. No arcane language, no rhyming couplets. The characters mostly speak in contemporary language, but in dialogue written with the same love of language and story.

CAST REQUIREMENTS: (see below)

From the playwright: “Casting should be diverse. Shakespeare is for everyone.”

We are looking for a troupe of 10-15 actors. All genders, all ethnicities, all abilities are welcome. Female-presenting actors may play male roles and vice versa (as in Shakespeare’s day).

Principal and large supporting roles are listed below. Many smaller roles may be doubled by supporting actors or by expanding the cast. Ages are rough estimates for reference.

HENRY CONDELL (40s): feisty, hopeful friend and actor in the King’s Men.

JOHN HEMINGES (50s): reasonable friend and financial manager of the King’s Men; owner of the Globe Tap House; a good man, a gentleman, if serious.

RICHARD BURBAGE (60s): seasoned lion of the stage, famous across England, loud and proud.

ALICE HEMINGES (35ish): John’s daughter and alewife, knows everyone and hangs with the boys.

BEN JONSON: Poet laureate of England, friend/rival of Shakespeare. Amazing drunk. A bear of a man. Surprisingly weepy.

ELIZABETH CONDELL (40s): Henry’s wife, savvy and fun.

REBECCA HEMINGES (50s): John’s wife, a good wife. Strong, busy with their grocery business, a woman who has weathered much but loves her husband and sons and God.

RALPH CRANE: Humble scrivener of the King’s Men. Quick, sure, quiet.

WILLIAM JAGGARD (60s): Successful if shady publisher of books, plays, and playbills. He is confident in his ability to get what he wants. Very experienced, very connected, willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. An ass.

ISAAC JAGGARD (35ish): William’s son, will inherit the business. Sensitive, an artist at heart.

EMILIA BASSANO LANIER (50s): fiery Italian feminist and poet, independent woman, lover of life (and of Shakespeare).

ANNE HATHAWAY SHAKESPEARE (60s): Shakespeare’s now ailing wife. Strong-willed, a classy lady, a survivor.

SUSANNAH SHAKESPEARE (30s): good girl and daughter of Shakespeare.

Sides will be provided at the audition. Callbacks by invitation only. Any questions, email Lisa Spielman at spielman.lisa@gmail.com
